Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If respiratory symptoms appear, seek
medical attention. If breathing irregular or stopped,
administer artificial respiration. Give nothing by mouth.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with clean water for at least 10 minutes,
including under eyelids Seek medical attention if symptoms
persist.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with
soap and water (or proprietary skin cleanser). Flush with
lukewarm water for 15 minutes. Do not use solvents or
thinners.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, alcohol resistance foam.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Full protection by suitable clothing and positive pressure
breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (See 2.3.1). Collect on
absorbent material and transfer to suitable containers for
disposal by incineration. Wash down contaminated areas with
plenty of water, using containment to avoid washings
reaching drains or surface water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Protective clothing, eye protection and gloves should be
worn when working with the material.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area in a tightly
closed container.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 litre steel drums and 20 litre metal cans (UN approved
types).
