Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Symptomatic

treatment.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry chemical or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear suitable protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1.).

Collect spill and transfer to labelled containers and

dispose of by incineration in accordance with local

regulations. Wash spill site with water, do not allow

washings to enter water courses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Wear suitable protective

clothing gloves and safety goggles. A dust respirator should

be used, if necessary.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers. Keep away from strong

oxidising material, heat and sources of ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Sealed polyethylene-lined fibre containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid temperatures above 240 deg C. High temperatures can

cause decomposition.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: In powder form the substance may form explosive dust clouds.

Minimum ignition temperature: 500 - 520 deg C.

Dust explosion determined by test: Y

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not permitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility using temperatures

of 1000 deg C. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of

nitrogen and sulfur should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is predicted that 95% is removed in water purification

plants, predominantly by adsorption to biomass.

The substance should not be disposed of the waste water or

directly to surface waters.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of articles which can be disposed of as domestic waste.
