Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected area with
soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation
develops.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Spray containers with water to keep cool. Perfluorocarbon
liquids are non-flammable and have fire extinguishing
properties.

Product arising from burning: Partial carbonisation occurs resulting in the formation of
fluorocarbon gases, liquids, polymers, hydrogen fluoride and
other toxic products.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and full personal
protective clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (2.3.1). Isolate spillages
and ventilate spill area. Absorb spillage with suitable
material eg sand. Transfer to suitable labelled containers
and dispose of at a landfill site or by incineration in
accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact of vapour or liquid with red hot surfaces,
flames or electric arcs as this gives rise to irritant gases
such as hydrogen fluoride. Do not use sodium or similar
metals or their hydrides for removing water from the liquid;
other dessicants are acceptable. Allow sufficient ullage
when drum filling to allow for thermal expansion. Gloves,
goggles and full personal protective equipment should be
worn.

Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool dark place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Package in alumium cannisters of 1 kg, 10 kg or 25 kg
capacity.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Flutec PP4 is incompatible with lithium, sodium, potassium,
calcium and barium (and possibly their hydrides) as it is
calculated that the resulting reaction would be very
exothermic.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: None.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: In normal use in the electronics industry the product could
be recycled.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance may be disposed of at a landfill site in
accordance with local regulations (A650).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas
scrubbing to remove fluorocarbon gases and hydrogen fluoride
should be fitted (A661).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
