Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
FAT 36034/H is a red coloured powder. The melting point determined according to OECD Guideline 102 is 233 °C. The boiling point could not be determined as the test substance decomposes at about 320 °C. The average density of FAT 36034/H at 20 °C temperature was found to be 1.2995 g/cm³. The particle size data acquired for FAT 36034/H is as follows: Percentage of test item with an inhalable particle size <100 µm (sieve method) is 15.0 %; Percentage of test item with a thoracic particle size <10.0 µm (cascade impactor method) is 1.16 %; Percentage of test item with a respirable particle size <5.5 µm (cascade impactor method) is 0.18 %. The vapor pressure was estimated to be 3.69 X 10-11 Pa (0.0000000000369 Pa) at 25°C temperature based on the boiling point calculated and using the Modified Watson Correlation. The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of FAT 36034/G at 20 °C, calculated from the individual solubility in water and n-octanol, was determined to be log Pow = 2.31. The water solubility of FAT 36034/G at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to (without correction for the purity) be <0.254 µg/L. The surface tension was determined to be 72.740 mN/m at room temperature ca 20 °C. The flash point of the test item was not determined. In accordance with Section 2 of REACH Annex XI, information requirement section 7.9, this study does not need to be conducted based on the physical state of the substance. According to ECHA guidance, flash point is only relevant to substances that are liquid at room temperature. There was no auto-ignition temperature observed up to 550 °C for the test item. FAT 36034/G showed no exothermic reaction, hence is not auto-flammable. The test item should be considered as not highly flammable. The analysis of the chemical structure reveals no alerts for explosive properties. The calculated chemical oxygen balance is above the trigger value of -200, but the determination of the exothermic decomposition energy demonstrated an energy release below the critical value of 500 J/g. Therefore, the substance is considered to be non-explosive according to Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and no further testing are required. In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, this study does not need to be conducted as this substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials based on its chemical structure.
