Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
18.11.2008 - 11.02.2009
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Remarks:
at atm. press. of ca.1013.0 hPa

The auto-flammability behaviour was determined by placing the test item into a stainless steel cube and heating the environment (GC oven) from room temperature to the melting point (62 °C) of the test item.

No increase to more than 400 °C in the temperature of the sample in comparison to that of the oven could be detected, also no signs of ignition could be observed.

Conclusions:
The substance is not auto-flammable
Executive summary:

The test item should be considered as not auto-flammable.

Testing was performed up to the melting point of the solid substance (62 °C).

No increase to more than 400 °C in the temperature of the sample in comparison to that of the oven could be detected, also no signs of ignition could be observed.

Description of key information

No self-ignition at temperatures below the melting point (62°C at 1013.25 mbar) detected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
