Preliminary Test:

The capillary tube containing the test substance was placed in the oven of the melting point apparatus, which was heated at a heating rate of 1 K/min, starting at 418.2 K (145.0°C).
At a temperature of 428.8 K (155.6°C) the test substance started to melt.

At a temperature of 429.7 K (156.5°C) the test substance was melted completely.

Test 1:

After heating the oven to 423.2 K (150.0°C), the capillary tube containing the test substance was placed in the oven of the melting point apparatus, which was heated at a rate of 0.5 K/min.

At a temperature of 428.6 K (155.4°C) the test substance started to crimp.

At a temperature of 428.8 K (155.6°C) the test substance started to collapse.

At a temperature of 429.0 K (155.8°C) the test substance started to liquefy.

At a temperature of 429.5 K (156.3°C) the test substance was melted completely.

Test 2:

At a temperature of 429.7 K (156.5°C) the test substance was melted completely.

Executive summary:

The melting temperature of the test substance was determined with the capillary method according to the OECD 102 Guideline for testing of chemicals and TNO Standard Operating Procedure Q 213-W-02 ‘Determination of the melting point/melting range’. The test substance (3 mm) was charged in a capillary tube and packed tightly. An Electrothermal IA 9200 melting point apparatus was used. The meaured melting temperature of the test substance is 429.6±0.1 K (156.4±0.1°C).
