Designated National Authority (DNA)
Each Member State shall designate the authority or authorities (DNAs) to carry out the administrative functions foreseen by the PIC Regulation. Information on DNAs includes contact details and whether they are responsible for industrial chemicals, pesticides or both. To the extent possible, ECHA also makes similar information available for non-EU countries.
It is possible to search for DNAs either by country or by selecting EU, non-EU, or all DNAs.
Note: The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union on the 31 January 2020, and the transition period foreseen under the Withdrawal Agreement ended on 31 December 2020.
“United Kingdom (Northern Ireland)” is however listed as an “EU Country” since, in accordance with the Protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland, the PIC Regulation continues to apply to that country. “United Kingdom (Great Britain)” is listed as a “Non-EU Country”.
