Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None; on interaction with water, decomposes by hydrolysis

and release of boric acid and other non-volatile starting

materials.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: None after use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The boron portion, which yields boric acid on contact with

water, can be neutralized with sodium hydroxide, sodium

bicarbonate, sodium carbonate or lime.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended, but with consideration given to the boron and

nitrogen oxides which may be evolved.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: May be used depending on residence time.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
