First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek immediate medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with soap and plenty of water. Seek
medical attention if irritation develops. Launder
contaminated clothing before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry powder or foam may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Wear appropriate
protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

Absorb spillages of solutions with an inert material

(eg. sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to
suitably labelled waste containers, or use a sealed
industrial vacuum machine. Clean the spillage area with
water. Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations by landfill or incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions when handling organic
chemicals. When exposure cannot be adequately controlled
using engineering controls, appropriate personal protective
equipment should be worn. Such protective equipment should
conform to the appropriate international or national
standards, e.g. chemical protective gloves to Standard
prEN374, chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368, eye
protection to Standard prEN166 and a dust mask conforming to
EN149 FFP1.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in cool, dry, well-ventilated
conditions.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance is packed in double polyethylene bags each
tie-sealed and contained in a cardboard keg of 25 kg
capacity. Kegs are fitted with plastic lids held in place
with plastic rim seals.

powder.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically or technically
feasible. In principle, it may be possible to recover large
spillages of uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by
landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local
regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed to remove oxides of nitrogen. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
