Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 170 °C

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Based on the results obtained from the study, it is concluded that the Relative Self-ignition Temperature of 1-Benzyl-5-phenylbarbituric acid (BPBA) was > 170 °C.
Executive summary:

Test item was filled in cube and suspended in the centre of the oven at room temperature.

One thermocouple was placed at the centre of the cube and the other between the cube

and the oven wall to record the oven temperatures. The temperature of the oven was

increased to 170 °C (near to melting) at a rate of 0.5 °C/minute. The temperatures of the

oven and sample were continuously recorded up to 170 °C.

The results were interpreted on the basis of Temperature / time curve. The curve shows that the

temperature of sample and oven are relatively same to each other. From the curve it was evident

that sample of test item did not ignite as no any sudden rise of sample temperature over oven

temperature was observed.

Based on the results obtained from the study, it is concluded that the Relative Self-ignition

Temperature of 1-Benzyl-5-phenylbarbituric acid (BPBA) was > 170 °C.
