Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General advice:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe vapors or spray mist

Eye contact:
Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Skin contact:
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Consult a physician.

Ingestion:
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Consult a physician. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Rinse mouth with water.

Inhalation:
Move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.

Protection of First-aiders:
Take appropriate steps to avoid fire, explosion and inhalation hazards

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media:
Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Water spray.

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons:
Water with full jet.

Specific Hazards Arising from the Chemical:
In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray. Hazardous combustion products. Carbon oxides. Hydrogen chloride gas.

Protective Equipment and Precautions for Firefighters:
Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray. Evacuate area and fight fire from a safe distance. Standard procedure for chemical fires. Wear self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Remove all sources of ignition. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapors or spray mist. Use personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil. Prevent product from entering drains. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. In case of seepage into the ground inform responsible authorities.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceus earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations.
Keep away from ignition sources.

Methods for cleaning up:
Keep in suitable and closed containers for disposal. Prevent product from entering drains.

Reference to other sections:
Vapors may form explosive mixture with air. Vapour can travel along the ground for considerable distances.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
Handling: Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Take necessary action to avoid static electricity discharge (which might cause ignition of organic vapours). Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Information about fire - and explosion protection:
Usual measures for fire prevention.
Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.
Use explosion-proof apparatus / fittings and spark-proof tools.
Take precautionary measures against electrostatic discharges.
Ground/bond container and receiving equipment.
The product is combustible.

Storage:
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:
Store only in the original container.
Keep container tightly closed in a well-ventilated place.

Information about storage in one common storage facility: Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Further information about storage conditions:
Ensure that local, federal and national legislation on storage conditions are observed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls
Engineering Measures: Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

Personal Protective Equipment
Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles. Clothing before re-use. Consult a physician.

Skin Protection: Wear protective gloves/clothing.

Hand Protection: Tested protective gloves are to be worn. When handling chemical substances, chemical protective gloves must be worn with
CE label including a four digit code. Type of chemical protective gloves to choose depends on the concentration and quantity of
dangerous substances as well as on work place specifications. In the cases of special applications, it is recommended to check
the chemical resistance with the manufacturer of the gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.

Material of gloves:
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from
manufacturer to manufacturer.

Penetration time of glove material:
The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Protection of First-aiders: Take appropriate steps to avoid fire, explosion and inhalation hazards

Respiratory protection: If technical suction or ventilation measures are not possible or are insufficient, protective breathing apparatus must be worn. The filter class must be suitable for the maximum contaminant concentration (gas/vapour/aerosol/particulates) that may arise
when handling the product. If the concentration is exceeded, a self-contained breathing apparatus must be used

General Hygiene Considerations: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity
Stability: Stable under recommended storage conditions. Reacts with air to form peroxides.

Possibility of hazardous reactions
Hazardous Reactions: Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.

Conditions to Avoid: Heat, flames and sparks. Protect from light.

Incompatible Materials
Materials to Avoid: Incompatible with oxidizing agents. Incompatible with strong acids and bases.

Hazardous Decomposition Products:
Fire may cause evolution of, Carbon oxides, Hydrogen chloride gas

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
Waste Disposal Methods: Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal or incineration. Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulationss.

Waste from Residues / Unused
Products: Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal or incineration

Contaminated packaging: Residues may cause an explosion hazard; do not puncture, cut or weld uncleaned drums.
Packagings that may not be cleansed are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
