Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to column 2 of section 9.3.1. in the Annex VIII of REACH "The study does not need to be conducted if: – based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol-water partition coefficient); or — the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly." The partition coefficients of 7-AMCA is low, i.e. log Pow = -2.5. A relevant adsorption of 7-AMCA to soil is therefore not expected and a waiving of the study is justified.

QASR estimations endorse the low Koc.
