Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
from 2017-03-22 to 2017-04-04
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to same study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
216.36 °C

No boiling point could be determined under these circumstances as the test item decomposed. The decomposition temperature was determined to be 216.36 ± 0.21 °C (see IUCLID section 4.2 "Melting point/freezing point").

Conclusions:
Since the test item decomposed after melting process (please refer to IUCLID section 4.2 "Melting point / freezing point"), no boiling point could be determined.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 103 and Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.2 to determine the boiling point of the test item. The boiling point was investigated via DSC.

Since the test item decomposed after melting process, no boiling point could be determined. No observations were made which might cause doubts on the validity of the study outcome. Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling

Description of key information

Since the test item decomposed after melting (please refer to IUCLID 4.2 "Melting point / freezing point"), no boiling point could be determined.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 103 and Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.2 to determine the boiling point of the test item. The boiling point was investigated via DSC. Since the test item decomposed after melting, no boiling point could be determined. No observations were made which might cause doubts on the validity of the study outcome. Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid (references 4.3-1 and 4.3-2).
