Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING

The following statement has been written by an expert:

A test item is considered an oxidizing substance when a mixture of the substance and cellulose in a 1:1 ratio (by mass) spontaneously ignites or the mean pressure rise time of the mixture is less than or equal to mean pressure rise time of a 1:1 reference mixture (by mass) of 65% aqueous nitric acid and cellulose.

The test item does not contain groups that act as an oxidizing agent (see Appendix 6 of the UN no. ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.6 guideline). The oxygen and halogen atoms that are present in the molecular structure of the test item are chemically bonded to carbon or hydrogen. The molecular structures of impurities at ≤ 1% were not taken into account.

In conclusion, MOVE3 has no oxidizing properties.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The substance MOVE3 has no oxidizing properties.

Description of key information

An experimental study for the determination of oxidising properties of the test item is not necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test item does not contain groups that act as an oxidizing agent (see Appendix 6 of the UN no. ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.6 guideline). The oxygen and halogen atoms that are present in the molecular structure of the test item are chemically bonded to carbon or hydrogen.
