The 48 hr EC50 in Daphnia magna was > 5.6 mg/L, the highest concentraiton tested. TBPA undergoes hydrolysis to TBPA-acid. ECOSAR estimates the 48 h EC50 of TBPA-acid in Daphnia to be 14.961 mg/L, which is consistent with the measured EC50 for TBPA of >5.6 mg/L. ECOSAR estimates the water solubility of TBPA-acid to be 0.104 mg/L, which is lower than the 48 h EC50. Based on this, neither TBPA nor its hydrolysis product TBPA-acid are expected to be acutely toxic to Daphnia.
