DTDP is expected to partition to sediment and wastewater solids, because it has the potential to sorb to organic matter to a great extent and is minimally volatile. DTDP is expected to exhibit a relatively short half-life in sediment and soil based on its extent of biodegradation in a standard OECD ready biodegradation test and the relatively short sediment half-life demonstrated by phthalate mono esters.
