Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The abiotic degradation potential of AP 1300 S can be considered as negligible. The biodegradability potential is actually under investigation and the specific test is in progress.

The bioconcentration potential can be neglected. Information on bioaccumulation in fish ("accumulation in carps was judged to be very small") on the structural analogous Similar Substance 01 (CAS 21850-44-2) reported in Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (1987) cited in the WHO publication has been used as a supporting information for the assessment on the basis of the wide similarity between AP 1300 S and Similar Substance 01 (as described in the Justification for the Read Across, attached at the section 13). The bioaccumulation in carp was judged very small.

Since the substance is highly insoluble in water, the aquatic compartment is considered to be of non-concern and the relative PNECs have been not considered. The substance dis not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction and no other evidence of chronic toxicity has been observed.
