Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is not yet classified in the Annex I of Directive 67/548/EEC. According to the information summarized in this below, no classification on flammability is needed:

- As liquid, no flash point up to 249 °C;

- As liquid, boiling point is higher than 300 °C;

- No pyrophoric property, based on experience from production and handling;

- It does not ignite spontaneously with water and does not liberate flammable gases in hazardous amounts in contact with water.

Based on the data summarized above, 1,3-dihydro-4(or 5)-methyl-2H-benzimidazole-2-thione is also not flammable according to GHS (Regulation EC 1272/2008).
