One study dealing with the toxicity to soil macroorganisms is available. In this study conducted according to OECD Guideline 207 (Earthworm, Acute Toxicity Tests: filter paper contact test), acetone shows a moderate toxicity to Eisenia fetida: a 48 h LC50 in the range between 100 and 1000 µg/cm² (nominal) was determined. No reliable studies are available for toxicity to birds. In further 48-h short term toxicity studies, Ambystoma mexicanum and Xenopus laevis larvae were exposed to acetone under static conditions in covered glass basins. The 48 -h LC50 were determined to be 20,000 mg/L nominal (Ambystoma mexicanum) and 24,000 mg/L nominal (Xenopus laevis).
