Short description of key information on bioaccumulation potential result:
Hydrazine is well absorbed after oral, dermal or inhalational administration, distributed in the body tissue and metabolized. Beside the elimination as nitrogen through the lung, urinary excretion of unchanged hydrazine and its metabolites is the main elimination route (BUA 1996).

Hydrazine is well absorbed after oral, dermal or inhalational administration. Hydrazine is distributed evenly in the body tissue after administration. Only the kidney reveals higher concentrations than other organs. The concentration of hydrazine in the blood decreases rapidly in a first phase, followed by a slow decline in the second phase. Hydrazine is excreted to about 50 % unchanged in the urine. In addition to nitrogen elimination through the lung, hydrazine metabolites appearing in the urine are mainly acetyl hydrazine, diacetyl hydrazine, 1,4,5,6 tetrahydro-6-oxo-3-pyradazine and pyruvate hydrazone and urea (BUA 1996).
