Additional information

The aquatic toxicity of (Z)-N-octadecyldocos-13-enamide (CAS No. 10094-45-8) has been investigated in long-term studies in fish and and aquatic invertebrates. No study is available for the endpoints algae and microorganisms. Thus, read-across from (Z)-N-octadec-9-enylhexadecan-1-amide (CAS No. 16260-09-6) has been performed to fulfil the data requirements of these endpoints. A justification for the analogue approach of substances and read across is provided in IUCLID Section 13.

For toxicity to algae as well as toxicity to microorganisms, data from the related substance (Z)-N-octadec-9-enylhexadecan-1-amide (CAS No. 16260-09-6) were used as read-across. The detailed analogue approach justification is provided in the technical dossier (see IUCLID Section 13). Both studies do not indicate any toxicity in the range of water solubility.

Further higher-tier experimental studies are available for the target substance itself. Both, the long-term toxicity study with aquatic invertebrates as well as with fish did not indicate chronic effects either. Thus, (Z)-N-octadecyldocos-13-enamide (CAS No. 10094-45-8) is of no toxicity to aquatic species.
