Move the person away from the contaminated area. Make the affected person rest. Obtain medical attention.

Skin contact :

Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash immediately and thoroughly for a prolonged period (at least 15

minutes). In case of inflammation (redness, irritation, ...) obtain medical attention.

Eye contact :

Immediately rinse with plenty of running water for a prolonged period, (at least 15 minutes) whilst keeping the eyes wide open If

irritation persists, consult a doctor.

Ingestion :

NEVER attempt to induce vomiting. Do not give anything to drink. Always obtain medical attention immediately.

Further informations:

Place contaminated clothing in a sealed bag for disposal. Use appropriate protective equipment when treating a contaminated person.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

- Suitable : Water spray, Foam, Powders, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

- Not suitable : High volume water jet. If there is a fire close by, use suitable extinguishing agents.

Specific hazards :

-Dust clouds may ignite. Pungent irritating fumes are released.

-On combustion, toxic gases are released.

-Combustible solid.

-Risk of dust explosion.

Protection of fire-fighters :

-Special protective equipment for firefighters

-Self-contained breathing apparatus.

Specific fire fighting methods

-Use appropriate means for fighting adjacent fires.

-Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

-Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions :

-Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

-Do not breathe dust.

For further information refer to section 8 "Exposure controls/personal protection".

Environmental precautions: DO NOT discharge into drains or rivers (product is hazardous for the environment).

Methods for cleaning up

- Recovery : Recover as much of the product as possible.Recover the product by vacuuming/shovelling or sweeping.Collect up the product and

place it in a spare container:

- Keep in properly labelled containers. Keep the recovered product for subsequent disposal.

- Cleaning/Decontamination : Wash the non-recoverable remainder with caustic soda solution (2-5 % NaOH).

Then wash the floor with plenty of water. Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal.

- Disposal : Dispose of solid materials at an authorized site.

Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

HANDLING

-Technical measures : Provide adequate ventilation. Dust extraction (suction).

Use of Local Exhaust Ventilation for each activity, except for those occurring outdoors and for the exposure scenario "addition of solid TBC in monomers".

-Measures: Avoid the formation or spread of dust in the atmosphere. Avoid any direct contact with the product.Do NOT handle without gloves.

Minimisation of manual phases/work tasks

Minimisation of splashes and spills,

Avoidance of contact with contaminated tools and objects

If molten : Avoid splashes.

-Safe handling advice : Comply with instructions for use (refer to technical sheet).  obtain special instructions before use.

The product must only be handled by specifically trained employees.

For more information on safe handling, please refer to "personal protection equipment".

STORAGE

-Technical measures : Local ventilation required when opening heated packaging.

Storage conditions

-Recommended : To guarantee the quality and properties of the product keep: - protected from air. - protected from light.

-Incompatible products : Strong oxidizing agents. Alkalis and caustic products.

Packaging materials:

- Recommended : Galvanized steel.Plastic materials (polyethylene). Galvanised drums. Plastic drums.

- Not suitable : Iron.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures :

-Facilities and equipment easily cleanable.

-If molten : Avoid splashes.

-Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits.

-Extraction to remove dust at its source.

-Provide adequate ventilation.

Personal protective equipment

- Respiratory protection

Use a respirator with an approved filter if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.

Respirator with a particle filter (EN 143)

In short-term processes where contact to substance cannot be excluded (e.g. sampling operations) and where the opportunity for exposure is higher than reference value, a combination of activated carbon filter and particulate filter can be used.

If vapour is released (molten product):

Respirator with a vapour filter (EN 141)  with a specific gas canister.

- Eye protection :

Safety goggles (material : polycarbonate or equivalent)

In case of contact through splashing (molten product): Wear face-shield and protective suit.

A mask is required for manual cleaning and maintenance of the equipments, sampling blend before packaging (outdoor), off loading into container (outdoor), off loading into drums (outdoor), sampling drums (outdoor) and for addition of TBC during storage of the monomers.

- Hand protection :

Where there is a risk of contact with hands, use appropriate gloves.

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of  Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.

Gloves must be inspected prior to use.

Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.

Long protective gloves, which go over the sleeves.

- Skin and body protection:

Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Remove and wash contaminated clothing.

In case of contact through splashing or Handling molten product: Full protective suit

Protective clothing. PVC apron covering the tops of the boots.

Appropriate safety shoes (material : PVC or equivalent)

Appropriate clothing (material: PVC or equivalent)

-Hygiene measures

Emergency equipment immediately accessible, with instructions for use.

Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing.

Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment.

Store personal protection equipment in a clean location away from the work area.

Keep working clothes separately.

Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.

Contaminated clothing must never be washed or reused.

Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Shower or bathe at the end of working.

When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Protective measures

The protective equipment must be selected in accordance with current local standards and in cooperation with the supplier of the protective equipment.

Selection of appropriate personal protective equipment should be based on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the protective equipment relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the potential hazards and/or risks that may occur during use or equivalent.

Stability and reactivity

Stability : Stable under normal conditions of use.

Hazardous reactions: No dangerous reactions known under normal conditions of use.

Conditions to avoid :

-Heat, flames and sparks.

-Static electricity

-Avoid dust formation.

Materials to avoid :

- strong oxidizing agents.

- alkalis and caustic products.

Hazardous decomposition products : On combustion forms: toxic vapours.(Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)).(Phenol).
