Conclusion on classification

1,2,4 triazole is harmful to aquatic organisms based on algae test giving an ErC50 -72h of 45 mg/L.

The lowest chronic data concers the toxicity to algae with a NOEC of 3.5 mg/L.

1,2,4 triazole is not ready biodegradable.

1,2,4 triazole has a calculated log Pow < 3.

Chronic toxicity data are available for two trophic levels (fish and algae) but not for daphnia. Nevertheless, no acute toxicity has been observed for daphnia according to an OECD guideline 202 at the highest concentration tested (495 mg/L). The most sensitive species is algae with an EC50 of 45 mg/L and a NOEC of 3.5 mg/L. And no chronic toxicity was observed to fish at 100 mg/L. Therefore, these information does not lead to a classification of 1,2,4 triazole for the environment according to both DSD and CLP criteria.

In addition, triazole is already listed in Annex VI of UE 1272/2008 and is not classified for the environment.
