Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Remarks:
Control mortality < 10% and DO was above air saturation value throughout the test
Conclusions:
The short-term LC50 was derived from a 21d-growth test with Lepomis macrochirus, which were fed during the test. The 96h-LC50 was 1.49 mg/l with 95% confidence limits 1.15 - 1.93 mg/l.
Executive summary:

The toxicity of AHTN was tested on the Bluegill sunfish Lepomis macrochirus according to OECD TG 204 and under GLP. The test studies the growth of the fish during 21 days in a flow-through system. The fish were fed daily. The results for day 0 to day 4 have been used to derive the 96h-LC50 for fish.

Test concentrations were up to the solubility limit of AHTN. Tween80 and DMF were used to prepare the stock solution. The concentrations ranged from 0.125 to 2 mg/l. After 4 days, all fish had died in the highest test concentration. The chemical analyses demonstrated that the initial test concentrations were above 80% of the nominal concentrations. The oxygen concentration remained above 60% of the saturation level and the control mortality was below 10%, demonstrating that the test is valid.

The 96h-LC50 was 1.49 with 95% confidence limits 1.15 - 1.93 mg/l. (Remark: fish were fed).

Description of key information

The prolonged toxicity of the test item was tested on the Bluegill sunfish Lepomis macrochirus according to OECD TG 204 and under GLP (Rel. 1). The results for day 0 to day 4 have been used to derive the 96h-LC50 for fish (the fish were fed daily). Tween 80 and DMF were used to prepare the stock solutions. The 96-h LC50 was 1.49 with 95% confidence limits 1.15 - 1.93 mg/L.
