Description of key information

The substance is non flammable upon ignition.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-reactive substance or mixture.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.
The substance is not an organic peroxide.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The preliminary burning rate test was negative. Local burning followed by rapid extinction was observed. The main test was omitted due to result of preliminary test.

The statement of pyrophoric properties and water reactivity based on structure and experience in use.

The substance or mixture does not to be classified as self-reactive as the self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT) is greater than 75 °C for a 50 kg package.

The substance or mixture does not to be classified as self-heating as the substance is a solid with a melting point less than 160 °C.

The substance or mixture does not to be classified as an organic peroxide as by definition based on their chemical structure the substance is no organic peroxide.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the classification and labeling criteria of GHS and 67/548/EEC a solid with a burning time < 45 seconds or a burning rate > 2.2 mm/s shall be classified as flammable solid. The substance is a non flammable solid.

According to the classification criteria of GHS a substance with a SADT <= 75 °C shall be classified as self-reactive substance. The substance is not a self-reactive substance or mixture.
