Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information : In all the cases : Immediate medical attention is required.
- Inhalation : Assure fresh air breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give
artificial respiration.
- Skin contact : Wash skin with mild soap and water.
- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min.
- Ingestion : Rinse mouth with water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
- Extinguishing media : Alcohol resistant foam. Use water spray. Dry chemical. Carbon dioxide.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture : Hydrogen bromide gaz. Hydrogen chloride. Carbon oxides.
- Advice for fire-fighters : If necessary, use an autonomous respiratory protection for the fire control.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Use proper personal protective equipment. Avoid inhaling vapors, fogs of pulverizing or gases. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe places.
-Environmental precautions : Do not flush down sewers.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up : Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of mist or vapour. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep in a cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well ventilated place. Carefully close all opened container and kept upright to prevent leakage. Keep under inert gas.
- Specific end use(s) :
No data available.
This substance is handle under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has beeen received every Downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters :
Personal protection
- Respiratory protection : When risk assessment shows that the breathing apparatus uilisationdes is appropriate, use a full face mask with versatile cartridge (U.S.) or type ABEK (EN 14387). If the mask is the only protection using a self-contained breathing apparatus with full face shield. Use of equipment and components tested and approved by NIOSH and CEN (EU).
- Skin protection : Combination of protection against chemicals. The type of equipment of protection must be selected according to the concentration and to the quantity of the dangerous substance at work.
- Eye protection : Facial protection and safety goggles. Use an equipment of protection of eyes, tested and approved according to the current governmental standards, such as NIOSH ( US) or IN 166 (EU).
- Hand protection : Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skin contacts the product (i.e. without touching the outside surface of the glove). Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands. The selected gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89 / 686 / EEC and in the standard IN 374 which derives from it.
Industrial hygiene : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential
exposure.
- Occupational Exposure Limits :
No data available.
