Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

1-((2-Butyloctyloxymethyl)-2-(3,4-dihydro-isoquinolinium-2-yl)ethyl)sulfate was tested in an acute toxicity test with Zebrafish (Danio rerio) under static conditions according to OECD guideline 203 and EU method C.1. The 96 hour LC50 value was > 3.85 mg/L and the 96 hour NOEC value for test item the zebrafish (Danio rerio) was >= 3.85 mg/L based on the mean of analytically determined concentrations. No toxic effect was observed up to the solubility limit of the test substance in water.

Additional information

1-((2-Butyloctyloxymethyl)-2-(3,4-dihydro-isoquinolinium-2-yl)ethyl)sulfate was tested in an acute toxicity test with Zebrafish (Danio rerio) under static conditions according to OECD guideline 203 and EU method C.1.Group of ten fishs were exposured to test item at concentrations of 0, 3.85 mg/L based on technical test substance (mean measured analytical concentration). The test was performed as limit test at the limit of the water solubility of the test substance. The initial test concentration was 4.2 mg/L. The analytical recovery rate at the end of the exposure was 83% of the test concentration at start of exposure. The mean concentration of

3.85 mg/L was above the water solubility of 2.5 mg/L determined as a test according to OECD 105. The concentrations of dissolved oxygen were maintained above 60% of the maximum saturation at the test temperature of 24 °C with exception of the 48 hour value which decreased to 58.8 %. This deviation was considered to have no effect on the results and the validity of the study, since no adverse effects and no mortality were observed in the test vessel with decreased oxygen content.

The following effect concentrations (mg/L) were obtained based on mean analytically measured concentrations:

The 96 hour LC50 and LC100 values for test item the zebrafish (Danio rerio) were > 3.85 mg/L. The 96 hour LC0 and NOEC values for test item the zebrafish (Danio rerio) was >= 3.85 mg/L.

The 95 % confidence limits could not be calculated.

No toxic effect was observed up to the limit of solubility of the test substance in water.
