First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15

minutes.  Seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with plenty of water and soap if available.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, alcohol foam ,carbon dioxide or dry chemical.

Water stream may be ineffective.

Product arising from burning: Could contain the following:  carbon monoxide, carbon

dioxide, oxides of sulphur (includes sulphur di and tri

oxides), oxides of nitrogen.

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personnel should avoid conatct with skin and eyes.

Remove sources of ignition.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (as in

Section 2.3.10), impermeable boots and respirator.

Cover spills with some inert absorbent.

Sweep up into containers for disposal.

Flush spill area with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Before eating, drinking or smoking, wash face and hands

thoroughly with soap and water.

Avoid unnecessary skin contact.

Impervious gloves and apron are recommended to avoid skin

contact.

For operations where eye or face contact can occur, wear eye

protection such as chemical splash proof goggles or face

shield.

Where exposures are below the Permissible Exposure Limit

(PEL), no respiratory protection is required.

Where exposures exceed the PEL, use respirator approved by

NIOSH for material and level of exposure.

Keep away from heat and flame.  Wash thoroughly after

handling.

Storage: Storage areas should have fire-safe practises and electrical

equipment in accordance with Electrical and Fire Protection

codes (NFPA-30) governing Class III A combustible liquids.

Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated room away from sources

of ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 55 gallon (250 kg) high density polyethylene (HDPE) drums.

bladder in a galvanised steel cage.
