Additional information

To assess the short-term toxicity of the registered substance to fish, one study is available.

This study (NOACK, 2015) was assessed as the key study and was performed on the registered substance according to OECD Guideline 203 with GLP statement. In this study, the test substance was exposed to zebra fish Danio rerio at nominal concentrations of 0.342, 0.751, 1.65, 3.64 and 8.00 mg/L (corresponding to geometric mean measured concentrations of 0.263, 0.664, 1.34, 3.47 and 7.30 mg/L) under semi-static conditions for 96 hours, plus one control without test substance. The determination of the test substance concentrations was carried out via GC-MS. Evaluation was carried out from freshly prepared media after 0 and 72 h and from the corresponding 24 h aged test media after 24 and 96 h. The measured concentration of the test substance in freshly prepared media after 0 and 72 hours of exposure were in the range of 85 to 113 % of the nominal values. The measured concentrations in the corresponding 24 h aged test media were in the range of 45 to 91 % of the nominal values. After 96 hours of exposure, no mortality was observed at the nominal concentrations of 0, 0.342 and 0.751 mg/L, and 100% mortality was observed at 1.65, 3.64 and 8.00 mg/L. Therefore, the test substance was found to cause lethal effects to zebrafish after 96 hours at a nominal concentration of 1.65 mg/L. The 96h-LC50 based on nominal concentrations was determined at 1.23 mg/L (95% CL: 1.22 -1.24 mg/L), corresponding to a geometric mean measured value of 1.09 mg/L (95% CL: 1.08 -1.10 mg/L).
