First-aid measures

- General advice:

Harmful if swallowed. Harmful in contact with skin. Harmful if inhaled.

- Following inhalation:

Remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.

- Following skin contact:

Immediately flush skin with copious amounts of water.

- Following eye contact:

Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water, keeping eyelids open.

- Following ingestion:

Drink plenty of water, provided person is conscious and induce vomiting.  Call a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

Not known

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Development of toxic and irritating decomposition products.

- Advice for fire fighter: Wear self contained breathing apparatus if necessary. Contact with acids liberates very toxic gas (Hydrogen Cyanide).

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Avoid causing dust. Ensure adequate ventilation.

- Environmental precautions:

No special protections required.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Pick up spilled product, keep in a closed container and hold for waste disposal.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Avoid causing dust. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Avoid exposure to sun light.  For quality reasons: Store in a cool dry place.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

: Hazardous reaction with acids.

Chemical stability:

Avoid exposure to sun light.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

: Do not mix with acids, oxidisers, nitrite and nitrate salts. Reacts violently with ammonia and chromic acid.

Conditions to avoid

: Avoid exposure to sun light.
