First-aid measures
General: Consult a physician. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance. Move out of dangerous area.
- After eye contact: Wash with plenty of water immediately and continue for several minutes, holding eyelid open. Seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists or if visual changes occur.
- After skin contact: Immediately flush skin with plenty of soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. In the event of any complaints or symptoms, avoid further exposure. Consult a physician.
- After ingestion: Ingestion is not a likely route of exposure. Rinse mouth and give water to drink. If vomiting occurs, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration into lungs. If symptoms develop, seek medical advice.
- After inhalation: Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of vapours. Treat symptomatically. Obtain prompt medical attention.

- Protective equipment for firefighters: As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
- General information: Eliminate all ignition sources. No smoking. Keep non-essential personnel at a safe distance away from the spill area. Warn or evacuate occupants in surrounding and downwind areas if required, due to flammability of the material. Ventilate spill area if possible. Do not breathe vapour. Stop leak at source if it can be done safety. Wear protective equipment. Have emergency equipment (for fires, spills, leaks, etc.) readily available.
- For non-emergency personnel: Evacuate unnecessary personnel.
- For emergency responders: Equip cleanup crew with proper protection. Ventilate and isolate area.
Environmental precautions: Prevent entry to sewers and public waters. Notify authorities if liquid enters sewers or public waters. Avoid release to the environment. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Ventilate closed spaces before entering. If possible, turn leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of liquid. - Appropriate engineering controls: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Avoid high temperatures. Ventilation equipment should be explosion proof if explosive concentrations of material are present.
Personal protective equipment (PPE): Avoid all unnecessary exposure.
- Respiratory PPE: If needed, approved respirator with organic vapour cartridges may be used. Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazard of the product and safe working limits of the selected respirator.
- Hand PPE: Handle with chemically resistant gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique (without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of contaminated or degraded gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices. Wash and dry hands. Consult PPE manufacturers.
- Eye PPE: Chemical glasses, goggles and/or face shields are required to prevent potential eye contact, irritation or injury.
