Administrative data

First-aid measures

If inhaled: Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

In case of skin contact: Wash off with soap and water. If skin irritation persists, call a physician.

In case of eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, also under the eyelids. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

If swallowed: Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth. Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or car-bon dioxide. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local cir-cumstances and the surrounding environment.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet

Specific hazards during fire-fighting: Formation of combustible vapours possible in the event of fire/high temperatures.

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear suitable respiratory protection equipment.

Further information: Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing dust.

Environmental precautions: Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.

Methods for cleaning up: Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Provide for appropriate exhaust ventilation and dust collection at machinery. Routine housekeeping should be instituted to ensure that dusts do not accumulate on surfaces. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Advice on common storage: Keep away from oxidizing agents and strongly acid or alkaline materials.

Storage class (TRGS 510): 11, Combustible Solids

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures: Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166

Hand protection Material: Protective gloves

Remarks: The suitability for a specific workplace should be discussed with the producers of the protective gloves. The choice of an appropriate glove does not only depend on its material but also on other quality features and is different from one producer to the other. The exact break through time can be obtained from the pro-tective glove producer and this has to be observed. The break through time depends amongst other things on the material, the thickness and the type of glove and therefore has to be measured for each case. Request information on glove permeation properties from the glove supplier. Choose gloves to protect hands against chemicals depending on the concentration and quantity of the hazardous sub-stance and specific to place of work.

Skin and body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.

Respiratory protection: Respirator with combination filter for vapour/particulate (EN 141). Half mask with a particle filter P1 (EN 143).

Protective measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Chemical stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Hazardous reactions: None known.

Conditions to avoid: No data available

Materials to avoid: No data available

Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Disposal considerations

Product: Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and hazardous waste. In accordance with local and national regulations. According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific.

Contaminated packaging: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Dispose of as unused product.
