First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures:
General: Check the vital functions. Unconscious: maintain adequate airway and respiration. Respiratory arrest: artificial respiration or oxygen. Cardiac arrest: perform resuscitation. Victim conscious with laboured breathing: half-seated. Victim in shock: on his back with legs slightly raised. Vomiting: prevent
asphyxia/aspiration pneumonia. Prevent cooling by covering the victim (no warming up). Keep watching the victim. Give psychological aid. Keep the victim calm, avoid physical strain. Depending on the victim's condition: doctor/hospital.
Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not apply neutralizing agents. Take victim to an ophthalmologist if irritation persists.
Skin: Wash immediately with lots of water. Do not apply (chemical) neutralizing agents. Take victim to a doctor if irritation persists.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Drink plenty of water. Rinse mouth with water. Seek medical attention. If possible drink milk afterwards.
Inhalation: If breathed in, remove from exposure and move the person to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.

Acute symptoms
After inhalation:
AFTER INHALATION OF DUST: Irritation of the respiratory tract. Irritation of the nasal mucous membranes.
After skin contact:
Tingling/irritation of the skin. Swelling of the skin.
After eye contact:
Irritation of the eye tissue. Lacrimation. Visual disturbances.
After ingestion:
Feeling of weakness. Irritation of the gastric/intestinal mucosa. Diarrhoea.

Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing Media: Polyvalent foam, ABC powder, Alcohol-resistant foam and carbon dioxide.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: On burning: release of toxic and corrosive gases/vapours (nitrous vapours, carbon monoxide – carbon dioxide). Decomposes on exposure to temperature rise: release of toxic/combustible gases/vapours (hydrogen cyanide). Reacts with water (moisture).
Fire Fighting Instructions: In case of fire, remove the endangered containers and bring to a safe place, if this can be done safely. In case of fire cool containers or take them to a safe place. Contaminated extinguishing water must be treated at a suitable disposal plant in accordance with waste management laws. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Ensure there are sufficient retaining facilities for water used to extinguish fire. Fire residues should be disposed of in accordance with the regulations. Keep out unprotected persons.
Fire Fighting Equipment: Gloves. Face-shield. Protective clothing. Dust cloud production: compressed air/oxygen apparatus. Dust cloud production: dust-tight suit. Heat/fire exposure: compressed air/oxygen apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Put on appropriate personal or protective equipment. Evacuate surrounding areas. Ensure adequate ventilation. No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Remove all sources of ignition Heat, flames and sparks. Avoid creating dust. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Containment Procedures: Prevent entry into sewers and waterways. Do not flush into surface water, soil or sanitary sewer system.
Clean-up Procedures: Absorb with inert material (e.g. dry sand or earth), and place in a clearly labelled container for chemical waste. Do not flush with water.
Special Procedures: Personal protective equipment must be worn: Fully protective suit, Respiratory protective device, Helmets, Protective Boots and Gloves. Wash clothing and equipment after handling. Ventilate area if spilled in a confined space or other poorly ventilated area.
Handling and storage
Handling Procedures: Keep containers closed when not in use. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wear personal protective equipment. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Empty container contains product residue which may exhibit hazards of product. Dispose of packing or containers in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.
Storage Procedures: Store in cool, keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Avoid dust accumulation in enclosed space. Store in a tightly closed container, store in a cool dry well-ventilated area away from incompatible substance. Container should be properly labelled.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control of dermal exposure: Handle with rubber gloves, coveralls, apron, boots as necessary to minimize contact. Gloves should be inspected prior to use and have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Use proper glove removal technique to avoid skin contact. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices.
Control of eye/face exposure: Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists, gases or dusts.
Control of inhalation exposure: Use respirator with a combination organic vapor and high efficiency filter cartridge if recommended exposure limit is exceeded (i.e. dust mask with filter type P3). Use self-contained breathing apparatus for entry into confined space, for other poorly ventilated areas and for large spill clean-up sites. A respiratory protection program compliant with all applicable regulations must be followed whenever workplace conditions require the use of a respirator.
General: Wash thoroughly after handling this product Eye wash fountain and emergency showers are recommended.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical Stability: Unstable on exposure to moisture.
Reactivity: Temperature above flashpoint: higher fire/explosion hazard.

Disposal methods
Waste should only be disposed of via a licensed waste contractor. The European Waste Catalogue (EWC) and European Waste List
(EWL) is a harmonized list of wastes. Waste materials should be classified prior to final disposal with EWC-codes. Wastes and empty containers should be treated based on their classification and properties referring to local and national waste management regulations. Waste management options: Dispose of to non-hazardous or hazardous waste landfill (Council Directive on the landfill of waste 99/31/EU and Council Decision establishing criteria and procedures for the acceptance of waste at landfills 2003/33/EU) or dispose of via hazardous waste incineration.
The generation of waste should be avoided or minimized wherever possible. Dispose of surplus and non-recyclable products via a licensed waste disposal contractor. Disposal of this product, solutions and any by-products should at all times comply with the requirements of environmental protection and waste legislation and any local waste management regulations.
Waste codes should be assigned by the user, preferably in discussion with the waste disposal authorities. All wastes containing residues of the substance or its hazardous degradation products shall be classified as hazardous waste.
All wastes containing residues of the substance or its hazardous degradation products should be disposed of as hazardous waste to authorized hazardous waste incineration plants, operated according to Directive 2008/98/EC on waste, Directive 2000/76/EC on the incineration of waste and Best Available Techniques for Waste Incineration as described in the respective BREF of August 2006.
Contaminated packaging: Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible and disposed of as hazardous waste to
incineration plants in accordance with Directive 2000/76/EC. Clean packaging material should be subjected to waste management schemes (recovery, recycling, re-use) according to local waste management regulations.
The substance and its container must be disposed of in a safe way. Care should be taken when handling emptied containers that have not been cleaned or rinsed out. Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues. Avoid dispersal of spilt material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.
