Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
1995
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch No.: 12054767
- Purity: 100.0 %
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
2.7
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: 95 % confidence limits 2.50-2.81
Details on results:
This result is in reasonable good agreement with the result of a preliminary test log Pow of 2.47, which is obtained by calculation with the computer program CLOGP (version 3.54 - 5190, Pomona College, Medical Chemistry Project, Claremont, USA). This method is based on the summation of molecular increments to the total log P ow of the substance.
Conclusions:
The partition coefficient (log Pow) was determined to be 2.7 at 25°C and pH 7.
Executive summary:

The n-octanol/water partition coefficient (log Pow)was determined according to EU Testing Guideline A.8 (HPLC method based on OECD guideline No. 117) to be 2.7 (95 % confidence limits 2.50 -2.81) at 25 °C, which indicates no lipophilicity. The method is based on the correlation of the reversed phase retention data of the test compound with those of reference compounds with known log Pow values.

Description of key information
