First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention
immediately.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water. If irritation develops seek
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with hydrogen chloride gas and some soot.

Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear full protective clothing (see 2.3.1). Avoid dust
formation. Sweep up spill and transfer to labelled
containers and dispose of by incineration in accordance with
local regulations. Wash spill site with plenty of water. Do
not allow washings to enter water supplies.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Protective arm-
length gloves (eg. 14 inch PVC gauntlets), paper suits,
safety glasses (BS2092) and a dust mask should be worn.
Scientific personnel handling the substance should use air
hoods at all times when they are in the production area.
Keep personal exposure below 10 mg m-3 8-hour TWA for total
inhalable dust and 5 mg m-3 8-hour TWA for total respirable
dust. Where dust generation cannot be avoided, provide and
use local exhaust ventilation. Where local exhaust
ventilation is impracticable, wear an approved face mask.
Storage: Store in tightly closed, polyethylene lined containers in a
cool, dry, well ventilated area.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre board drums double lined with antistatic polyethylene
liners, closed with a lever closing ring.
