Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Phototransformation in air

The atmospheric rate constant was estimated to be 3.9 E-13 cm3/molecule-sec. Considering an OH-concentration of 500,000 radicals/cm3 as a 24-h average, a half-life of 0.41 days and 9.835 hrs was estimated. The estimation rules applied for the substance appears appropriate. The related acid of the test substance was used for the calculation.

Hydrolysis

The hydrolysis behaviour of the test substance was investigated at pH = 4, 7 and 9 using a HPLC/UV method for analysis and the following hydrolyis rates were measured (pH=4, 25°C: T1/2=276days; pH=7, 25°C: T1/2=3.5hrs, pH=9, 25°C: T1/2=10mins). This indicates a fast hydrolysis of the test substance at pH 7 and 9.

In a second study the main hydrolysis products of X-Tan were determined. The main soluble product of the hydrolysis is hexane-1,6 -diamine.
