Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A QSAR has been used to generate the melting temperature of the test material. The QSAR was conducted using EPIWIN and a result of 206.33K was determined. This data was backed up by using read across from two surrogate materials (EHMC and UMC). Please see section 13 for our read across proposal.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A QSAR has been used to generate the melting temperature of the test material. The QSAR was conducted using EPIWIN and a result of 206.33K was determined. This data was backed up by using read across from two surrogate materials (EHMC and UMC). Please see section 13 for our read across proposal.

The result of the melting point for EHMC was determined to be in the range between 272K and 278K and the result of the melting temperature for UMC was determined to be in the range 261K and 267K. These results are both very similar to the QSAR which was generated on the substance UC. Since the QSAR is actually undertaken on the test material we wish to register we have used this endpoint as the key study and the two study reports we have on the surrogate materials are considered as supporting information.

Taking into consideration the result of the QSAR and the results of the two surrogate materials it was decided an actual study on the test material UC was not required.
