Additional information

The acute Toxicity of tris(oxiranylmethyl)benzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate to the unicellular green algal species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was determined in a static 72 hours test. The test was conducted in accordance with OECD Guideline 201 and the Commission Regulation (EC) No 761/2009. This study encompassed 6 treatment groups (5 dose rates of the test item:100, 45.5, 20.7, 9.4 and 4.3 mg test item/L (nominal), corresponding to 51, 22.3, 8.49, 2.26 and 0.60 mg test item/L geometric mean measured values, and one control) with three replicates per test concentration and six replicates for the control. At test start 50 mL of the test concentrations were inoculated with 5000 algal cells per mL test medium and defined volumes of the algal suspensions were sampled after 24, 48 and 72 hours for determination of cell densities by spectrophotometrical measurement. The samples collected at start and after 72 hours were analysed via HPLC method.

The 72-hour ErC50value was calculated to be 27.45 mg test item/L and the 72-hour EyC50was calculated to be 6.70 mg test item/L.The 72-hour ErC50value was calculated to be 27.45 mg test item/L and the 72-hour EyC50was calculated to be 6.70 mg test item/L. The 72-hour NOErC was determined to be 0.60 and the associated 72-hour LOErC is 2.26 mg test item/L. The 72-hour NOEyC was determined to be 0.60 and the associated 72-hour LOEyC is 2.26 mg test item/L
