Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance was not shown to be readily biodegradable in a ready biodegradability assay.

Further biodegradation testing, including simulation testing in surface water, sediments and soils, was waived, since the chemical safety assessment did not indicate the need for further investigation, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No.1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2.

The substance is a tertiary alkylamine and is therefore expected to be hydrolytically stable.

Bioaccumulation is not expected in aquatic or terrestrial compartments. The experimentally-determined log Kowof 0 is substantially below the criterion of log Kow˂ 3 at which bioaccumulation testing is not indicated, as described in Regulation (EC) No.1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2. In addition, the bioaccumulation study of a read-across substance (N,N-bis[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]-N',N'-dimethylpropan-1,3-diamine; CASRN 33329-35-0)in carp indicated that bioconcentration is not of concern in the aquatic compartment; the BCF value ≤2 from the low concentration test and BCF≤ 0.7 from the high concentration test are each substantially below the definitive criteria for both bioaccumulative (> 2,000 L/kg) and very bioaccumulative (>5,000 L/kg) substances.

The adsorption/desorption coefficient of the substance was estimated to be Koc = 5.358 kg/L (log Koc = 0.729), based on estimation from an experimentally-determined partition coefficient.
