Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Hydrolysis_OECD 111: Degradation observed at pH 7 - 57 % recovery after 11 days at 30 °C and 50 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The hydrolysis reactions of the test material (CAS No. 91648-65-6) were determined in accordance with the OECD Guideline 111 (Rocchio, 1990). A stock solution of test material (63.4 mg/L) was prepared in 2 mL of methanol and then diluted to 1 L with distilled water (< 1 % co-solvent). Aliquots of the stock solution were adjusted to varying pH levels 4.0, 7.0, 9.0 (actual: 4.03, 6.94 and 8.90) using an appropriate 0.05 M buffer, filter-sterilized and incubated at the designated test temperatures (6 °C, 30 °C and 50 °C). The concentration of test material was then determined analytically on days 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 11 of the study using high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). Significant hydrolysis was only observed for the pH7 treatment. The reaction rate constant (Kobs) was calculated for the 30 °C and 50 °C test temperatures, Kobs = 0.270 and 0.219/days, respectively.
