Description of key information

Formaldehyde, one of methylal degradation product, is classified as carcinogenic to humans by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and, as shown in "7.1.1 Basic toxicokinetics", can be produced by inhalation and oral routes.  Nevertheless, concentration of formaldehyde (0.02%) does not require classification according to CLP Regulation.

Methylal is not expected to produce carcinogenic effect because of its low concentration conctent of formaldehyde (<<0.1%).
