Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Guideline study with GLP.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Burning time:
0 s
Remarks on result:
other: The test substance ignited after 5 seconds. After removing the gas burner the flame extinguished within a few seconds.

Flammability

The test substance ignited after 5 seconds. After removing the gas burner the flame extinguished within a few seconds.

The test substance did not burn over a length of 200 mm within 4 minutes. Therefore according to the guideline no further test was performed and the test substance is not classified as "highly flammable".

The drying loss of the test substance was 0.8 %.

Flammability in Contact with Water

The practical experience of the sponsor and the test facility shows that no gases are developed, when the test substance is in contact with water.

Pyrophoricity

The test was not performed experimentally because practical experience exists at the sponsor and the test facility, e.g. when handling small amounts of the test substance repeatedly in air during testing. The test substance is therefore regarded as not being pyrophoric.

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
Flammability: The test substance is not classified as "highly flammable".
Flammability in contact with water: The practical experience of the sponsor and the test facility shows that no gases are developed, when the test substance is in contact with water.
Pyrophoricity: The test substance is regarded as not being pyrophoric.
Executive summary:

The flammability was determined according to EU-method A.10.

Results

Flammability:

The test substance ignited and melted. After removing the gas burner the flame extinguished immediately.

The test substance did not burn over a length of 200 mm within 4 minutes. Therefore according to the guideline no further test was performed and the test substance is not classified as "highly flammable".

Flammability in contact with water
