Description of key information

The acute toxicity of butyl glycollate to fish was tested according to OECD 203. Zebrafish (Danio rerio) were exposed to the test substance over a period of 96 hours under static conditions. The test reported an LC50of 23.1 mg/l based on geometrical mean measured concentrations.

Additional information

A supporting study on the acute toxicity to Golden orfe resulted in an EC0 of 50 mg/L after a test duration of 48 hours. A static test with Daphnia magna according to OECD 202 resulted in an EC50 value above the highest test concentration of 100 mg/L. A supporting study on Daphnia magna resulted in an EC0 of 280 mg/L after an exposure period of 24 hours. In a 7-day toxicity study with Lemna gibba according to OECD 221, both EC50 and NOEC values for growth rate as well as yield were reported to be higher than the highest test concentration of 87.44 mg/l, based on initially measured values.
