Three publications were available to evaluate the metabolism of vanillin.

Only one was of validity 2, the vanillin was given by oral route to 6 rats/dose at doses of 100 and 300 mg/kg in a single application. After 24, 48 and 96, urine, faeces and bile were sampled collected and analysed. The urine analysis indicated that Vanillin was conjugated between two pathways of transformation, oxidation and reduction.
