Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Aquatic toxicity tests were conducted at concentrations up to 100 mg/L; no adverse effects were seen in fish (no deaths recorded at up to 96 hours exposure), daphnia (no immobilisation and no effects on reproduction recorded at up to 21 days) or algae (no inhibition of growth rate seen at up to 72 hours). On the basis of these results Acute toxicity category 1, and chronic categories 1 -3 are not applicable to Elfamoist AC according to the CLP Regulation (Regulation (EC) 1272-2008 including amendments up to 04 May 2017). There is no basis by which to assign Elfamoist AC to Chronic category 4 as the substance has no tendancy to persist in the aquatic environment (the substance is readily biodegradable) or bioaccumulate (the substance has a low parition coefficient).

No data are available which would indicate an abiotic hazard to the environment.

On the basis of the above, Elfamoist AC is not classified for harm to the environment.
