Additional information

Propylene glycol n-propyl ether was readily biodegradable in the screening test according to OECD guideline 301A. Therefore no further biodegradation testing in water, sediment or soil is required. Propylene glycol n-propyl ether has a very limited potential to bio-accumulate based on a low log Kow (0.621) and bioconcentration factor (BCF). The predicted BCF for propylene glycol n-propyl ether is 3.16 (log BCF = 0.5), based on the results of the EPIWIN/BCF Program. Thus, derogation applies to bioaccumulation testing.

Based on the ready biodegradabilty and the low log Kow (0.621) derogation applies to stability and adsorption/desorption testing.
