Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- other: no oxidising properties
- Remarks:
- Migrated information
- Conclusions:
- The substance shows no oxidizing properties
- Executive summary:
The substance was tested for oxidizing properties according to European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, A.17. Oxidizing properties of solids. As oxidizer barium nitrate was used. As reference mixtures of barium nitrate and cellulose with different concentrations were prepared. The mixture with 60% barium nitrate and 40 % cellulose showed the highest burning rate of 1.64 mm/sec.
Mixtures of the test item and cellulose were prepared. Only the mixture with 10% test item and 90% c ellulose showed a propargation of the flame over the complete distance of 200 mm with a burning rate of 0.72.
For all other mixtures with a higher concentration of the test item the flame extinguished before reaching the 200 mm distance.
Therefore, only the 10 : 90 mixture test item : cellulose can be taken into account.
Due to the fact that the mixture of the test item with cellulose burned slower compared to the reference mixture it was concluded that the test item had no oxidizing properties.
