Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A study was conducted in accordance with the OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals No.201 “Freshwater Alga and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test” (2006). A water-accommodated fraction (WAF) with 100 mg/L loading rate was used to expose the test species to the test substance because the substance was poorly water-soluble and difficult to be dissolved in the test solutions.

The measured concentration of the concentration group 1 at the beginning of exposure was 0.0366 mg/L, and that at 72 hours after the beginning of exposure was <0.002 mg/L. It was confirmed that the concentration of the test substance decreased during the exposure. The time weighted mean of measured concentrations during the exposure period was 0.00678 mg/L.

No effects on algaö growth was observed. The determined 50% growth inhibition concentration, ErC50 (0 - 72h) was >0.00678 mg/L (95% confidence limits: not available) and the No observed effect concentration, NOErC (0 - 72h) was 0.00678 mg/L accordingly.

By microscopic observation at the end of exposure, in the concentration group 1 neither unusual cell shape of algae (contraction, expansion, damaged cell etc.) nor agglutination was observed, and the algae looked normal compared with that in the control group.

Thus, the test substance had no effect on algal growth in this study.
