Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Considering that the substance is highly insoluble in water, namely << 0.02 g/l at 20 °C, the aqueous environment is unlikely the principal compartment of concern. Therefore, hydrolysis as a function of pH was not tested.

The test substance shows no evidence of rapid biodegradation in water as demonstrated in BOD5 and COD screening tests. Biodegradation of the test substance in other media and the mode of degradation in actual use were not investigated. In an adsorption test with activated sludge, test substance showed 100 % colour removal after 24 h, based on turbidity. Transport and distribution of test substance was evaluated in terms of adsorption and desorption. A high potential for adsorption on sediment was found, as indicated by log Koc= 4.34, namely above the threshold value of 3 (SETAC 1993). This finding is indicative of substance immobility in the environment.

Further data on the environmental fate and pathways of the substance in terms of stability, bioaccumulation and environmental monitoring are unavailable.
