Description of key information

According to QSAR estimates, the soil is exposed to negligible amounts based on distribution modelling (0.04%). Based on the identified uses, there is no direct exposure to waste water treatment plants and no use related to soil. Furthermore, spreading of mud from any waste water treatment plant possibly exposed to significant amounts of BAB is not supported. Last, the conditions of Commission Regulation (EC) No 134/2009, §3.2 (b) and (c) are fulfilled  demonstrating an absence of exposure to the environment. See section 9 and 10 of the CSR.

According to ECHA Guidance R7b, for substances that are highly insoluble and for which no effects are observed in aquatic studies, the application of the equilibrium partitioning method is not possible. According to ECHA Guidance R7c, the substance would be in soil Hazard category 4 because of its high log Koc, high persistence in soil, and impossibility to use the equilibrium partitioning method.
